  6. KENWOOD TH-215A handheld transceiver out-of-band modification:

  8. 1.  Remove two screws from belt clip
  9.  
  10. 2.  Remove 4 screws from back of radio
  11.  
  12. 3.  Slide front assembly off
  13.  
  14. 4.  Locate set of 4 jumpers:

  41. 5.  Reassemble radio.

  43. 6.  Reset microprocessor:  Turn radio on while simultaneously pressing
  44.     both _F_ key and _ENTER_ key.

  48. DISCLAIMER:  I do not own a TH-215A and have not verified the above
  49. information.  Hopefully, the modified frequency range includes 162 MHz
  50. weather-broadcast freqs.  Remember, it is ILLEGAL to transmit outside
  51. the ham band with non-FCC-type-accepted equipment, even if you are
  52. licensed to use such frequencies.
